Power cut in Southampton leaves fire station without power and residents stuck in lift

I read the following article in the Southern Daily Echo, with interest, as I do all such articles:

A power cut has hit Southampton this morning, leaving residents stuck in a lift and a fire station without electricity.

Dumbleton Towers was without power and saw two people stuck in a lift this morning, before they were freed by the power company.

Engines from St Mary’s and Hightown, who themselves were without electric, attended the scene at 9.25am.

St Mary’s left the tower block shortly before 10am.

Fortunately in this one, nobody was injured or even worse died as a result.  However it does illustrate the need to be able to safely evacuate ALL occupants safely, even if the main supply of power has been lost.

Our ELPS range is designed specifically for this type of even and specifically for lifts, giving you the power you need when you need it, leaving nobody behind.
