Rectifiers
AC to DC Power Conversion Systems
Rectifiers convert alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC). This process is known as rectification. Industrial rectifier systems supply power for control and instrumentation. They are designed for charging all types of batteries in telecommunications, switch gear tripping, power generation and distribution, water, gas, instrumentation, process industries, emergency lighting and other applications that require critical DC loads and demand power security and reliability.
Our heavy duty rectifier systems incorporate well proven control logic and heat sink assemblies using the latest semiconductor switching technology to provide compact, highly dependable units in single or multi module configurations. This enables precise control of output current for energising magnets used in plasma physics or, controlled voltages for more conventional load applications.
Single charger system
During normal mains operation the charger supplies the required load and provides sufficient current to maintain the battery in a fully charged condition ready for use. In the event of a mains failure the load will be automatically supplied by the battery without any interruption for the required standby period. Battery recharge commences automatically on restoration of the mains supply.
Our single rectifier battery charger systems can support loads from 24V DC to 750V DC and up to 1,200A.
Dual charger system
This arrangement provides a high level of security with two chargers sharing the load and battery recharge demand. If one of the chargers' output should cease due to a fault or switching a module off for maintenance the remaining charger will automatically take up the total load requirement without a break.
Dual charger and dual battery system
These rectifiers allow for complete security and flexibility. The units are built in a modular configuration with a number of rectifier modules operating in parallel in order to meet the power requirements. This permits disconnection of any charger or battery for maintenance or exchange. Our systems are normally designed with each battery providing 50% of the required standby duty. Alternatively each battery can be sized for 100% of standby duty if the extra cost and space is justified.

DC to DC Converters
This power product converts an unstable direct current (DC) voltage to a highly stable output voltage. The DC to DC converters provide an isolated, high stability, regulated, adjustable DC output from station batteries or other widely fluctuating DC sources to power communications equipment, supervisory control systems, and other sensitive electronic equipment. Our units are used on board all types of mass transit public service vehicles including high speed, light and main line rail trains, trams and trolley buses.

DC Ground Power Unit
This type of DC power converter aircraft ground support equipment (GSE) provides helicopters, small aircrafts and miltary jets with 28.5V DC up to 2,000A peak power for engine starting and for battery charging.
Our DC engine starter and battery charging ground power units are available as either trolley mounted or fixed installations. These 28.5V DC GPUs can either be used outdoors at the aircraft parking stands or indoors in maintenance hangars; avionics workshops; aircraft manufacture and training simulators.
The helicopter and engine starting DC ground power units are designed for connection to the normal 50Hz or 60Hz mains source power and provides a high stability, reliable and isolated power supply.
